Our industry leading socialisation and social-skill development program for puppies under six months of age

The Research.

As the RSPCA Australia states, "Proactively socialising your puppy is very important. Puppies have what is called a 'critical socialisation period' between approximately 3 -17 weeks of age.

The puppy’s experiences during this critical period of learning and development can influence and shape their behaviour well into adulthood. Providing plenty of opportunities for socialisation and exposure to different environments during this time can help to ensure your puppy grows into a well-adjusted adult that relates well to other dogs, other animals and people," and that's where we come in!

After this critical age, and up until six months, puppies will benefit greatly from safe, controlled, positive socialisation where they can build on their socialisation skills and doggy manners.

The Info.

  • There is no minimum age, but we do ask that puppies have had their full C5 Vaccination or received written clearance from their Vet to start earlier, and have been in their new home environment for at least two weeks before their first day with us.

  • Puppies must complete the Pawgram prior to turning six months.

  • Bring their own lunch with them during each visit to Dogcity Daycare, or owners order a $5.99 doggy lunch order for their pup to enjoy during their visits

  • The pawgram is run by our team alongside our regular daycare program (during our opening hours) so our team will do all of the work while owners can head off and do theirs.

  • Puppies enrolled in the pawgram will, throughout the day, move between the organised ‘Positive Puppy Pawgram’ activites and our regular daycare program.

  • The Positive Puppy Pawgram daycare credits are valid for Full or Half Day visits, however for young puppies, half days are usually recommended. Our team will work more closely on this with you once they have assessed & worked with your dog.

  • Puppies should come wearing a flat collar with an easily identifiable name tag.

  • We would usually recommend that the PPP be completed with one session per week for five weeks to allow the appropriate rest and down-time between sessions.

We're passionate about puppies and we know just how important it is to get things right the first time; that's why we've introduced our 'Positive Puppy Pawgram', a socialisation specific program for puppies under six months where they can learn to play and make friends.

It's so important that puppies are offered the opportunity to play, learn and experience positive socialisation in a safe and controlled manner, supervised by people who are experts in dog play behaviours rather than a dog park or other potentially unpredictable environment.
