Canine Enrichment Officers
But… What even is a Canine Enrichment Officer?
At Dogcity we offer dog daycare; a place where dogs can experience positive socialisation experiences in a closely facilitated and meaningful way, but that’s not enough, well it’s not enough for us anyway. So we introduced the role of Canine Enrichment Officer, or ‘CEO’s’ as we like to call them. These people work within each of our facilities and their jobs are quite simply to enrich the lives of the dogs we care for even more. Think bubbles, ball pits, cuddles, treats, scent work, puzzles, Snuffle Mats, games, balls, you name it, they do it! Now, obviously all of these things exist within our regular daycare curriculum, but our CEO’s ensure everyone gets to join in on these experiences, and often will offer extra enrichment in a seperate place space with small groups of dogs. Our CEO’s are the excitement providers, the bubble blowers, the party hat wearing, red-cordial drinking people who make everyday fun!
What is Enrichment?
Enrichment simply means any addition of value to your dog's life. This can be in the form of a new environment, new games, new toys, fresh social interactions etc.
Enrichment has proven benefits for dogs. It helps reduce undesirable behaviors in dogs as well as positively deal with stress.
Why offer Enrichment?
At Dogcity Daycare we're all about keeping up to date with the latest in doggy research. Over the last few decades, many studies have demonstrated why mental stimulation is critical for dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. Today, experts universally agree that there’s a strong correlation between the stimulation of different sensory receptors and the mental wellbeing of dogs.
What do our CEO’s do?
They’re a team of dog-crazy, bouncing-off-the-walls energetic, people who’s purpose at Dogcity is to work out just what makes your dog 'tick' and come up with the PAW-fect enrichment activity to satisfy their doggy needs.
Our energetic CEO's work all day, every day to take your dog’s day from ‘AMAZING’ to ‘wiggle-butt, tail-wag, face-licking, OH MY DOG THIS IS AMAZING’, and at no extra charge to our human clients!
What will my dog do?
We strive to do so much more than just ‘care’ for your dog; we want to fulfil and enrich their lives, explore their interests and stimulate all of their doggy senses.
Scent activities, basic obedience, 1:1 cuddle time, small group play, music time, TV time, treat puzzles, snuffle mats PLUS anything else we can possibly think of.
We also incorporate enrichment into our Birthday Parties and Lunch Orders through a range of feeding tools like LickiMats, Slow Feeder Bowls and Hide & Seek activities.
